About the course
The Department of Sociology offers an undergraduate B.A. programme.

  • Sociology a social science that studies human societies their interactions, and processes that preserve and change them.
  • It does this by the dynamics of constituent parts of societies such as institutions,, communities populations, and gender, racial, or age groups.
  • Sociology also studies social status, stratification, social movements and social change as well as societal disorder in the form revolution.
  • Sociology is an optional subject for UPSC
  • Sociology as a subject influence throughout various industries and sectors of life, such among politicians, policy makers and legislators, educators, planners, administrators, developers, business magnates and managers, social workers, non- governmental organisations.
