About the course
The department offers B.Sc. courses with Physics as one of the core subjects in the following combinations: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM); Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science (PMCs); Physics, Mathematics, Electronics (PME).
The aim of the department is to help students synthesize knowledge from different areas of physics.
Academic Prospects
Students who study B.Sc., with PCM, PMCs, and PME combinations have a number of opportunities for higher studies. They can pursue Post graduation in Physics not only at the native Universities but also at reputed institutions across the country by qualifying through an entrance examination conducted by NISER and ISER. The Department of Physics gives guidance for taking up JAM (Joint Admission Test for Master’s Degree).
Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore offers Integrated PhD Programme to undergraduate students through a qualifying entrance examination.
