About the Course
The department offers Mathematics as a core subject with the following combinations: PME-Physics, Mathematics and Electronics, PCM- Physics Chemistry Mathematics, PMCs- Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science. A good knowledge of mathematics provides an edge to students to qualify in competitive examinations.

Academic Prospects
With a three year B.Sc. in Mathematics, students have the following options:
• Post-Graduation in Mathematics
• B.Ed. course which qualifies them to enter the teaching field.
• MBA
• M.Sc. IT
• MA in Economics
• Eligibility to take up some of the entrance tests like: JEST, TIFR GS, JNUEE, NEST
• Indian Statistical Institute Admission Test: PG and JRF admission in Indian Statistical Institute
• GATE : PG pure science courses in IITs, NITS
• IIT JAM entrance exam for M.Sc and Integrated M.Sc- Ph.D. in IISc. and IITs.
Job Opportunities

Vijaya College, Jayanagar, erstwhile BHS First Grade College took its genesis in July 1989 under the BHS Managing Committee's(now BHS Higher Education Society) holistic awning. What ideated in 1988 germinated and took form in 1989 as BHS First Grade College.
