Hindi is studied as second language in I and II years of undergraduate courses- B.Com, BBA, B.Sc., BCA, and BA. Knowledge of Hindi helps in smooth communication when one is travelling to any part of the country. Hindi literature is vast and beautiful, so from the point of aesthetics, it is advantageous to know Hindi.

At Vijaya College Hindi is taught keeping in mind the importance of Hindi in career advancement and success. Hindi is one of the most widely spoken languages in the Indian sub-continent and even in South Asia. It is the fourth most spoken language in the world. Hence in order to grow both personally and professionally, it is essential to learn Hindi and be fluent in it.

Vijaya College, Jayanagar, erstwhile BHS First Grade College took its genesis in July 1989 under the BHS Managing Committee's(now BHS Higher Education Society) holistic awning. What ideated in 1988 germinated and took form in 1989 as BHS First Grade College.
