About the course
The department offers BSc, with Chemistry as one of the core subjects in the following combinations: (PCM)-Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, (CBZ)-Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, (CMbBt)-Chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology and (CZBt)-Chemistry, Zoology, Biotechnology .The department is highly committed to the advancement of students in the field of chemistry. The faculty members conduct series of activities for the students to hone their theoretical and practical ability. They are encouraged to participate in quiz competitions, science events and other competitions at various levels. The department guides to the students to take up JAM -Joint Admission Test for Master’s degree.

Aims
To use the knowledge of chemistry for the benefit of society and to ignite the spirit of inquiry, creativity, independent thinking and responsibility.

Academic Prospects
Students can pursue higher studies in the following domains:

• Post-Graduation in Chemistry and Biochemistry at reputed institutions across the country by qualifying through an entrance examination conducted by NISER and ISER.
• Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore offers Integrated PhD Programs to undergraduate students through a qualifying entrance examination.
